I have to be honest here... I didn't feel like this was a complete book. I was left with more questions than answers. This was a quick read and I feel a (vague) intro to Carter's story in Merciless. But I haven't finished reading that series yet. But while the writing wasn't bad, I just felt like this was an incomplete story.

The Wired & Dangerous series Zero Hour Darkest Night Final Day (Available October 16, 2018)
This was the first book I've read by Megan Erickson and I hate to say it, but I wasn't impressed. I felt there was no character development. They were boring and stale. Darkest Night is the second book in The Wired and Dangerous series and I have absolutely no desire to go back and read the first book (Zero Hour) or the next book (Final Day) when it comes out.
I was bored with this book and the writing. I didn't feel ANY connection between these two characters. Jock/Jamison/J was a robot. Even after all the horrors that Fiona went through in her late teens/early twenties, I just didn't like her.

This is my first Amy Daws book. Obviously that means that I haven't read any of the other Harris Family books. That being said, I don't feel that it is a necessity in order to follow Gareth and Sloan's story. Surrender is part one of a duet (with Dominate coming out Aug. 2, so you won't have a long wait). If cliffhangers aren't your cup of tea, then you'll only have to wait a couple weeks to pick put both books.

I don't want to give to much of the story line away. These are interesting and complex characters that I feel deserve to tell their own story (without me meddling). In fact, Gareth and Sloan are probably my favorite characters I've read in a while. I've enjoyed reading other books and their characters, but Gareth and Sloan stood out to me and I will definitely remember them when they are done.

I can't wait to read the conclusion of their story in Dominate and thankfully we don't have to long to wait!!

Playing for Keeps is the third book in Samantha Lind's Indianapolis Eagles series. Each book focuses on a different couple and I thought could be read as a standalone (even though times in each book may overlap a bit). Playing for Keeps focuses on long-time friends-with-benefits Richard "Murph" Murphy and Madison O'Neal. Each are to scared to reveal their true feeling for one another and could potentially lose out on their happily-ever-after.
After reading all three books so far in this series, I think Playing for Keeps is my favorite. I liked the characters in Just Say Yes. I didn't click with the characters in Scoring the Player (this book was just okay for me). But I really liked Madison and Richard in Playing for Keeps. I don't want to say to much about if or how these two get their act together and stop being so stubborn about their true feelings toward each other. Rating: 4 out of 5
