It's no secret that sports analyst Jackson Gray doesn't do relationships. What is a secret, however, is the reason why. Jackson's life is . . . complicated. And it doesn't help that his current hands-off “friendship” is with the cute-as-hell new sideline reporter he's assigned to train. Turns out, not only is the woman damn sweet, she also knows as much about football as he does. Like it or not though, Jackson has to remind himself that sex is the only thing he has to offer . . . until now.
Leila Hart's fast-growing friendship with Jackson is something she'd never risk, no matter how unbelievably seductive the reward. Becoming an NFL sportscaster has always been the goal, and thanks to Jackson's fierce support and mentoring, it all finally seems within reach. Problem is, a girl can only take so much of that sexy-as-sin voice whispering dirty, filthy football stats in her ear before she loses all self-control. A workplace romance with Jackson is a disaster waiting to happen, especially for someone with big dreams . . . and secrets of her own.

Bennett's Chance (Book 2) *Coming September 2016
Leila Hart is determined to make a name for herself in the male-dominated world of football. She knows that it won't be easy, but she is determined. It doesn't hurt that she knows her stuff and shocks the hell out of her colleagues. The only one not shocked about her football IQ is Jackson Gray, the man assigned to train her.
Jackson's life is complicated. And making it more so is cute-as-hell Leila. The more time he spends with the new sideline reporter, the more he wishes his life could be different. He is just waiting for the other shoe do drop, and he doesn't want to bring anyone , especially Leila, down the rabbit hole with him. But as their relationship switches from just a work friendship to a "friend-with-cuddle-benefits", Jackson finds it harder and harder to stay away from the one woman worth giving up everything for.
Jackson's Trust is the first book in Violet Duke's Fourth Down series. This was also my first book by this author. I enjoyed the writing and the characters. I liked the way their relationship progressed from colleagues, to friends, to cuddle-friends, then eventually, something more. I also LOVED Jackson's two best friends (Bennett and Donovan). The only thing that threw me with this book was (what I like to call) the "WTF" moments... Moments (for me) that seemed to come out of left field. There were a few for me in this book. That doesn't mean I didn't still really like this book, it's just that it took me a minute to figure out the how/what/where/when/why of WTF was happening all of a sudden. All of these moments were explained AFTER they were introduced, but there was never any hint that there was something 'more' going on.
