Myla has been immersed in the world of the Mexican cartel for over fourteen months now, and not by choice.  Not when the leader of said cartel wants you.  Alvarez took her from her life and hasn't Myla hasn't figured out a way to get back to her life or sister, Kara.  She KNOWS no one is coming to save her (since everyone thinks she is dead), so she just needs to bide her time and learn everything she can to take a man like Alvarez down, even if she is killed in the process.
Kyle has been looking for Myla for a year.  And he can't seem to let the image of Myla go.  And when he has his chance to infiltrate the Alvarez cartel as a hired bodyguard, Kyle jumps at the chance to find out if there is a chance that Myla is alive.  Imagine his surprise when the person he is guarding is Myla herself.  
But Myla seems to be Alvarez's woman now.  Does she want to rescued or is she happy being with a killer and drug lord?  Kyle is determined to find out what has become of the woman that has held him captive (from afar) for over a year.
While this book had plenty of action/suspense, I felt that Myla hooked up with Kyle a little too quickly for me.  I mean, she was kidnapped and held by a man that she (frequently) says will kill anyone if he even THINKS they touched her.  But she doesn't seem concerned enough to stop her for sleeping with Kyle rather quickly.  That is the only thing that really bugged me about this story.  Otherwise I really enjoyed this fast-paced romantic suspense book.
